Hi! I'm Leanne

Thanks for stopping by.

In my 30+ years experience across social enterprises and businesses I've seen far too many amazing people lose enjoyment in their jobs and become resentful and depressed – to a point they survive rather than thrive at work.

And so, I created Passions-n-Profits.

I help people find a pathway to a place where they work within their skills and passions, and love their jobs because of it.

All too often, I see great people leaving organisations, becoming disconnected all because their leaders failed to recognise and nurture their potential.  And so, Passions-n-Profits focuses on helping leaders and leaders of leaders become their best selves and create teams that thrive. It's a sort of win-win, where everyone profits, including the company's bottom line.

My motivation started early – after watching my gifted mother's enthusiasm for music wither into depression because the social norms of the time prohibited her from becoming a concert pianist.

So, what did I do when I grew up?

I became a movie stuntwoman of course...

Why? Because I could and it was my passion at the time – leaping from tall buildings and the like.

Returning to the real world, it didn't take long to realise my true passion and strengths lay in helping others find theirs – and in creating work environments where they could thrive, using their skills and talents productively in their work. I discovered profiling and business tools to help leaders and their people turn broken workplaces into productive teams – and I loved every minute of it.

My passion for working with organisations to support their employees, build their culture and improve their profits, has taken me remote Western Australia, where I headed up a World Vision project to support Aboriginal elders to become actively involved in their children's education. It has taken me to Darwin, remote parts of Queensland, to Papua New Guinea, Victoria and to large cities such as Brisbane too.

Whether my clients are from the bush, or the big-city, I employ a strengths-based approach – working with people and leaders to understand their strengths and build teams that maximise their potential.

Sometimes it's a tough gig, working through layers of process, measurement and management that seem designed to stifle passion, individuality and diversity. But it's rewarding too, bringing about change that benefits everyone.

I've managed to avoid the seagull approach – flying in, squawking loudly then flying out again. Instead I am embedded in organisations, taking them through process from beginning to end, until the culture is sorted, the people are being developed and leaders are actually leading.

There's been some fun stuff too, doing volunteer capacity-building work for organisations such as World Vision and St John's Ambulance; and working with people of migrant and refugee backgrounds.  You may have guessed, diversity is a passion of mine; and there's nothing more rewarding than seeing an organisation discover and embrace the benefits it brings to the workplace.

Another of my passions ( by this time you'll have realised I have quite a few) is an organisation called Clowns Without Borders, which sends teams of clowns to bring joy and hope to children affected by disaster and war across the globe. I'm proud to serve on their Australian Board.

When I decided to start my consultancy to help leaders and teams become passionate about what they do – it was only natural to call my business Passions-n-Profits. The name is no coincidence.

If you harness your own passions and strengths, and those of your people, profitability is almost inevitable.  And there's nothing I enjoy more than being your cheerleader as I watch it happen.
